About me
Erik Harvey is North Carolina Board Certified in Business and Consumer Bankruptcy and has been recognized as a Rising Star by North Carolina Super Lawyers from 2014 to 2017. At the law firm of Bennett Guthrie, Erik practices in debt relief, insolvency issues, financial restructuring, bankruptcy, tax resolution, and strategic corporate and tax planning.Erik earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Santa Clara University (1998), an MBA from San Jose State University (2001), and both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Iowa (2005). He completed a clerkship with the Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina from 2007 to 2009.
An active contributor to the field, Erik has presented at the 37th Annual Bankruptcy Institute and published articles, including “In the ‘Wake’ of Picadilly: Small Chapter 11 Cases Should Brace for Ripple Effect” in the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the North Carolina Bar Association, participating in the Bankruptcy, Tax, and Business Law Sections, and serving on the Middle District Bankruptcy Seminar Committee.
