About me
Sarah Beth is the founder of Inner Banks Legal Services, a non-profit law firm committed to bridging the justice gap in Eastern North Carolina. As a Board Certified Consumer Bankruptcy Law Specialist, she focuses on representing consumers in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, advocating for their rights and financial well-being.
Her journey in bankruptcy law began at The Sasser Law Firm, where she started as a receptionist. Witnessing the impact of legal representation on people's lives sparked a passion for the legal profession. During law school, she had the opportunity to serve as a judicial extern to the Late Honorable Randy D. Doub, Chief Judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. This experience deepened her commitment to serving the community.
Sarah Beth has worked as a staff attorney for a Chapter 13 Trustee, as a consumer attorney, and has represented creditors in private practice. These roles provided her with a well-rounded understanding of bankruptcy law. In 2017, she established Inner Banks Legal Services to offer affordable legal representation and ensure equal access to justice for all.
She is also the co-founder of the NC Consumer Bankruptcy Rights Coalition, which advocates for the rights of consumer debtors and works to maintain the integrity of the bankruptcy system. Her work has been featured in articles co-authored for The NACTT Academy for Consumer Bankruptcy Education and the Eastern Bankruptcy Institute. In 2021, Sarah Beth was named to the "40 Under 40" list by the American Bankruptcy Institute, an honor that continues to inspire her to serve her clients and the community.
In addition to running the firm, Sarah Beth actively engages in providing bankruptcy education through the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and other organizations, aiming to equip individuals with the knowledge to navigate financial challenges. She is also a member of the Eastern North Carolina Inn of Court, where she works with peers to promote professionalism, ethics, and excellence in the legal profession.
