About me
Tara Gaschler Salinas is the founder and managing attorney of Salinas Law Group LLC in Denver, Colorado. Her practice focuses on consumer Chapter 7 & 13 bankruptcy and litigation, as well as student loan law. She founded her law firm in 2003 and has handled hundreds of personal and business bankruptcy cases since then. In 2018, she expanded the practice to assist distressed federal student loan borrowers as well as litigation and settlement of private student loans. Mrs. Salinas is a frequent speaker at local, regional, national, and international continuing education programs, including being a speaker for the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys in 2013, 2018 and 2019; the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Rocky Mountain Conference in 2023, 2022, 2020, 2015, 2014, 2012 and 2009; and for the Central and Eastern European Law Institute’s International Models of Insolvency program in 2020, 2018 and 2017.
Mrs. Salinas is active in the Colorado consumer bankruptcy bar. She has been a member of two judicial selection committees interviewing and recommending candidates to fill Bankruptcy Judicial positions. Mrs. Salinas has also served on the Colorado Bankruptcy Local Rules Standing Committee since 2010 and sponsors and manages the Debtors’ Counsel Listserv for Colorado consumer debtor lawyers.
A lifelong Colorado native, Mrs. Salinas graduated with a BA from Colorado State University in 1997. After a course in parliamentary government at London School of Economics and an internship in the House of Commons, she returned to Colorado and received her JD from University of Colorado School of Law in 2001. In her free time, Tara enjoys traveling with her husband and three sons, and spoiling her pets, Luna and Athena.
